Perform Photography started first as an instagram page for our founder, Tony McCrackin. After a potential wedding client looked through his photography Instagram said "oh, I guess it's cool that you do this marching band thing", he knew he needed a designated place to share as much of his marching arts photography as possible, and thus @perform.photography was created. (spoiler: he did not book that wedding)
As time went, Tony's work in the performing arts went from something he did a few weeks a year to being the lion's share of his work, and Perform Photography fully relaunched under it's own LLC in 2026.
Perform Photography was founded with a mission: Capture the best of the performing arts. This is a commitment to not just work with the best ensembles and cover championship events, this is a mission to take each and every opportunity given to capture all facets of the performing arts as best as we can.

We believe the Performing Arts are a powerful, transformative, and enriching part of the lives of performers and spectators. Because of that, they deserve to be captured and showcased at a high level.

We believe every performer, every rep, every day, deserves celebration. Because of that, we strive to celebrate not just the wins but the moments in between. Our way of celebrating these moments is through the lens.

We believe the way to create greatest impact is through a commitment to excellence. Because of that, we strive to capture high quality images and create a positive impact through photography.
Tony MᶜCrackin
Tony McCrackin grew up in and around the performing arts. From being the lead of his school's 5th grade musical to aging out with the Boston Crusaders and getting a degree in music from Central Michigan University, Tony was involved in every ensemble his schedule could allow through his entire education.
Photography came as his second passion, as a fun way to be engaged with and give back to the arts and his community of musicians. Tony started working in social media and taking photos of events for CMU's School of Music while still a student, and after aging out of drum corps spent two summers on the media team for the Madison Scouts.
After graduating and finishing the DCI 2019 season, Tony moved to Indianapolis to pursue an active involvement in the marching arts, and built his career as a photographer.
Tony has spent the years since moving to Indy actively engaged as a photographer specializing in the performing arts. He has covered as many as 50 events a year for organizations like FloMarching and Bateman Photography, and worked directly with several scholastic and independent ensembles.
Tony's commitment to education and community building has been woven through his career. He spent several years as a tech for high school marching programs. He has served as a moderator in the Marching Arts Media discord since 2019, and has made an active effort to raise up and work with countless media professionals across the marching arts.
He now lives in Indianapolis with his boyfriend, enjoys going on daily walks, taking care of his dozens of houseplants, and spending free weekends with his family in Michigan.
